We began by fully demolishing the outdated bathroom, removing the old cabinetry, corner bathtub, and plastic wall shower to make way for a modern, spacious, and highly functional design. The goal was to completely reinvent the space with a fresh, contemporary look that feels both luxurious and practical.
To enhance the sense of openness, we installed large-format ceramic tiles on both the floor and the main walls. Large tiles reduce grout lines and create a clean, seamless appearance. For added visual interest, we introduced a complementary ceramic in a matching color but with a distinct design on the secondary wall, creating depth and character without overwhelming the space.
For the bathtub, shower, and vanity, we selected high-end fixtures from Riobel, a highly reputable brand known for performance and durability. These premium faucets provide excellent water flow and efficiency while elevating the overall elegance of the bathroom. To further enhance the design, the vanity faucet was installed in-wall, creating a refined aesthetic while maximizing usable space on the quartz countertop.
All accessories — including the shower frame, trims, faucets, and suspended in-wall mirror lighting — were chosen in a sleek black finish to create a bold contrast against the ceramic, vanity, and side cabinet.
For ultimate comfort, we installed a Schluter DITRA-HEAT membrane beneath the ceramic tile, paired with a high-performance heating cable system. This ensures efficient radiant floor heating and provides a cozy feel under bare feet during Québec’s cold winters.
